The second single off of Gaga's 2020 album Chromatica, the track was written by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande with contributions by Nija Charles, Rami Yacoub, Tchami, Boys Noize, and producers BloodPop and Burns. Described by Gaga herself as a "celebration of tears," the song's lyrics deal with being resilient in the face of adversity. In terms of commercial performance, the single was released on April 22, 2020, and quickly rose to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first female collaboration to debut at Number 1 on said chart. It also topped the UK Official Singles Chart upon its release. A music video featuring both artists was also shot right before the COVID-19 lockdown, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Robert Rodríguez.
