With its aggressive vocal, manic laughter, yelps, and snorts, the song is unlike any other. Hawkins began developing a stage persona worthy of the spooky song. He'd perform the song after emerging from a flaming coffin waving around a skull on a stick that he named Henry. Hawkins and Henry were a bit hit with the ladies.
